British Artist Simon Lee Dicker Born 1975 London. Lives Somerset UK.
Simon’s work embodies a shifting aesthetic that has taken the form of light-based and sculptural installations, public realm interventions and event based social activities. Simon’s particular form of ‘Social Sculpture’ builds on abandoned, obsolete and discarded structures to create work that reveals unexpected connections and challenges the process of ‘making’, often aimed at altering perceptions of what art is and how it functions.
Oscillating between public realm projects and studio based activity his practice is constantly on the move whilst retaining a simple playfulness, energy and intuitive thoughtfulness throughout.
In 2011 with his partner & long term creative collaborator Chantelle Henocq, Simon established OSR Projects, a transitional artists group that works predominantly out of the Old School Room, an artist run studio and project space in rural Somerset. The project space is a place for creative exploration and collaboration, a platform for artists to produce and exhibit work, and a place for creative practitioners to network and develop professional practice.
