Landslip

A love letter to a small stretch of Dorset coastline Landslip 2025 is a ‘sketchbook’ piece made to test ideas and apply newly learned skills. This collage of photography, film and animation capture an eroding landscape alongside a sea that is in continuous flux. The cliffs crumble and slide, iron-rich streams cascade over soft blue clay before discharging on to the stony beach.

The title Landslip refers to both the process of material transformation from a solid to a liquid state as well as the raw material of liquid clay, called ‘slip’. My artistic practice includes ceramics and this work was developed whilst working on a Dynamic Collections Commission for RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Musem) in Exeter, UK.
